When you call Groundwater Pros, you’ll speak directly with Amanda in our office. She handles scheduling, coordinates property visits, and stays involved with your project before, during, and after drilling.
If you’re ready to move forward, call Groundwater Pros. We’ll coordinate the property visit, confirm the drilling location and access, and get the scheduling process underway.
In Georgia, water-well drilling is licensed work. Before hiring a drilling company, it’s reasonable to know who holds the license and which crew will be working on your property. Groundwater Pros has three Georgia-licensed water well drillers and owns and operates our drilling rigs and equipment. You can verify licenses through the Georgia EPD’s licensed water well contractor list.
Tell us about the property, what you’re building, and what you plan to use the well for. We’ll get the information we need and move the project toward scheduling.
We make sure our equipment can reach the site and help determine a practical well location based on access, septic placement, roads, and property lines. If site prep is needed, we’ll let you know.
We drill the well, keep you updated on depth and water as we go, and talk with you before going deeper when a decision needs to be made.
Depth is the biggest variable. We cannot know beforehand how deep a well will need to go, and the deeper we drill, the more the well costs.
Casing can also affect the final price. Some properties require additional casing or different casing materials, which adds cost.
Many wells in our North Georgia service area fall between roughly 300 and 600 feet, although some need to go deeper. Around that point, we look at what the well is producing and discuss the options with the property owner. Depending on the well and the geology, continuing deeper or hydrofracking may be worth considering. Every property is different, and neither a specific depth nor water yield can be guaranteed.
In much of North Georgia, groundwater moves through fractures and openings in hard bedrock. That means two nearby properties can require different well depths and produce different amounts of water.

The cost depends mainly on the depth of the well, the amount of casing required, and conditions encountered during drilling. We price drilling and casing by the foot and can explain the current rates when you call.
For many new-construction projects, the septic location and drain field need to be established so the well can be placed with the required separation. Requirements can vary by property and county, so call us early in the process.

Groundwater Pros handles the required notice-of-intent filing for the new well. Other permit requirements can vary by county.
No responsible driller can guarantee a specific water yield before the well is drilled. We keep you informed about what we are finding as the work progresses.
Our drilling schedule changes as projects are completed and added. Call us about your property and we can tell you what the current schedule looks like.
