Groundwater Pros — Well Drilling & Pump Service (706) 901-2345

Our Story

Built From the Ground Up.

Amanda and Tristan brought experience from two different sides of the water-well industry, but the company itself was theirs to build—from the first jobs and equipment purchases to the crew and operation it is today.

  1. Built on Real Well-Site Experience

Before there was Groundwater Pros, Tristan was building Waterworks Hydrofracking one job at a time. He spent his days on well sites, traveling wherever the work took him and learning firsthand what it takes to solve difficult water problems. What started with one hydrofracking rig became the foundation for something much bigger.

  2. From Two Sides of the Industry

Amanda came to the business from a different side of the same industry. She had spent years working behind the scenes in the water-well business—handling customers, scheduling, operations, and the day-to-day work it takes to keep jobs moving. Tristan knew the work in the field. Amanda knew the business behind it. Together, they saw an opportunity to build the kind of well company they believed customers deserved.

  3. Built to Do More of the Work Ourselves

That meant growing beyond hydrofracking. Amanda and Tristan invested in their first drilling rig, brought in people they had already worked alongside and trusted for years, and continued adding the equipment and capabilities to handle more of the well from start to finish.

Eventually, they put down roots in Talking Rock, purchasing 10 acres for the shop, barn, and office that now serve as Groundwater Pros’ North Georgia home base. Today, the company operates with three Georgia-licensed well drillers, its own drilling and hydrofracking equipment, and the same hands-on approach it was built around.

Meet Odie

Chief Well Sniffer

Odie goes just about everywhere Tristan goes, which means he has spent plenty of time around Groundwater Pros jobsites. If the crew is working, there’s a good chance he’s somewhere nearby keeping an eye on things — or looking for somebody to play with.

Odie loves finding sticks, carrying them around, and barking at the guys until somebody finally gives in and throws one for him. He’s become a familiar face around the crew and, more often than not, everybody’s favorite member of it.

The People Doing the Work

Three Licensed Georgia Drillers

Tristan Johnson, licensed Groundwater Pros well driller
Tristan Johnson Owner & Co-Founder GA LIC #736

Tristan started with one frack rig and set out on his own to find the work—and he found it. Today, he leads our hydrofracking operation and trains others on the crew. A licensed well driller and skilled diesel mechanic, Tristan also drills wells and rebuilds, repairs, and maintains our equipment in-house. He can fix just about anything put in front of him. Tristan has never needed everyone else to believe something would work before he was willing to go make it happen.

Christopher Ray, licensed Groundwater Pros well driller
Christopher Ray Lead Pump & Service Technician GA LIC #725

Chris is our go-to guy for pump and service work, troubleshooting and water-filtration installation—but that’s only part of what he can do. He’s just as capable of drilling a well or running a hydrofracking job on his own, and his experience across the whole well system makes him one of the most versatile guys on our crew. If something needs installing, servicing or figuring out, Chris is usually one of the first people we turn to.

Thomas Crunkelton, licensed Groundwater Pros well driller
Thomas Crunkelton Lead Driller GA LIC #734

With more than 15 years in the well industry, Thomas can handle just about any part of the job. He spent years doing service work and knows the whole well system, but these days he leads much of our drilling and helps train the crew coming up behind him. Thomas has worked alongside this group for years and is very much part of the Groundwater Pros family—but we’re pretty sure he was born to be on the back of a drill rig.

Don’t take our word for it — you can look up any Georgia well drilling license on the Georgia EPD’s licensed water well contractor list.

Co-Founder • Operations, Systems & Growth

Amanda

Amanda runs the business behind the field work at Groundwater Pros—from customer communication and scheduling to operations, marketing, and growth. Years in the water-well industry shaped her belief that great communication, organized operations, and transparency with customers aren’t optional—and that “the way it’s always been done” doesn’t have to be the way it stays.

An artist at heart, Amanda brings that same creativity to web design, digital imagery, technology, and problem-solving. She built Groundwater Pros’ digital presence and marketing system, along with a custom software platform engineered around the real-world workflows and operational challenges of a well company.

Driven by a love of helping people, Amanda aims to use what she’s built and learned to help others in the industry strengthen their operations, customer experience, marketing, and growth.
